I’ve been extremely fortunate to work with artists I’ve truly admired over the years, but no other client has been as fun to witness evolve the way composer Tom Holkenborg a.k.a. Junkie XL has.

From producing bands early in his career to undergoing an incredibly successful electronic music run in the 9os and 2000s, Tom is now scoring some of the biggest films in Hollywood like Deadpool, Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v Superman (with Hans Zimmer) and many more under his belt. Arguably his most anticipated score happens to be for one of the most highly anticipated films of the year – Justice League. So when I popped by Tom’s studio one day, walking in on him mixing down a cover for The Beatles’ “Come Together” with real life guitar hero Gary Clark Jr., I could barely contain myself!

Fast forward to a few days ago when the new Justice League trailer dropped to include Tom’s remake. As his digital marketing manager, my phone blew up with Twitter and Instagram notifications of overwhelming praise – which is really saying something considering how protective and critical comic book fans are of their movies! The track completely ties the entire trailer together perfectly and is a huge ray of positive light for fans of the series. With all the upcoming content activations we have planned in the next 6-12 months, it’s going to be a fun ride on the heels of Justice League and other films later in the year.

I’ve gained a deep appreciation for film scoring and music composition working with Tom over the years, but the fact that I’m genuinely rooting and cheering for him as a fan makes my work that much more inspired and inspiring.
